Almost everyone can get tired of the daily grind. More importantly, if work is controlling every part of your life, then you might feel as if it’s time to quit. Just remember that all of us have felt this way but it isn’t really a reason to quit work. Just in case, work is supposed to be challenging – this is actually a good thing – and hardly a reason to quit at all.

You never know how these challenges can translate into a promotion or a pay raise in the future.  Best part: you might be closer than you think. So, don’t give up just yet. That said, there are a number of reasons why you should consider quitting your job. Here are 6 of these ominous signs:

1: You have the ‘Monday Blues’ – All Week Long

Everyone literally has an issue with Mondays. But if that feeling persists every day of the week, it’s time to look at why you feel this way. There could be a number of reasons why this happens: you could be bored, find a task difficult or having problems with a particular employee. More than anything, if you aren’t sure why, it’s still time to start looking for a new job.

2: The Company is in a Mess

Whether it’s the conversation around the watercooler or if the company seems to be sinking, it’s time to start looking for employment elsewhere. If people that you talk everyday seem to be unhappy as you converse with them, then it’s time to leave. Also, if you’re sure that layoffs are imminent, then it’s time to leave on your own terms instead of theirs.

3: Your Personal Life and Relationships Are Suffering

There are times when your personal life and relationships will suffer due to the job. No matter what, a job does not take precedence over this very important aspect of your life. Regardless of the benefits and pay package, it’s time to look for greener pastures. First, take care of your relationships and then think about work.

4: You Don’t Fit In With The Company Culture

If you feel you don’t fit in with the company culture, then it isn’t a place for you in the long-term. It goes without saying that people always prefer those who are similar to them. So, if you feel like a square peg in a round hole or if you don’t believe in the company vision or mission, then it’s time to look for a place that you can feel comfortable working at.

5: You Feel Harassed

If you find yourself in such a situation, then it isn’t acceptable at all. Being abused or harassed at work is something that no employee deserves. Worse still, if you find out that something illegal is going on, then it is time for you to leave – and leave immediately.

6: No Respect for Bosses

If you cannot respect your bosses or managers, this is a problem that isn’t going to go away. Being mutually respectful to one another is vital and is something that one cannot fake. If this is an issue at your current workplace, then it’s definitely time to move on.
